Understanding USPS Forever Stamps: What You Need to Know

by Shadow Liquid error (sections/article-template line 9): The format option 'month_day_year' is not a supported format.

Forever Stamps are one of the most convenient postage options for everyday mail. They are popular because they are simple to use, easy to store, and helpful for people who mail letters regularly.

What Is a Forever Stamp?

A Forever Stamp is a non-denominated First-Class stamp intended for mailing a qualifying standard domestic letter. Instead of showing a printed dollar amount, it represents the current First-Class letter rate when used. Postage requirements can vary with weight, size, shape, and destination, so verify the finished mailpiece before sending.

How Forever Stamps Work

The main benefit is simplicity. If you purchased Forever Stamps before a postage-rate change, they can still be used for qualifying First-Class letters later. That makes bulk rolls useful for home offices, small businesses, and frequent mailers.

Are Older Forever Stamps Still Usable?

Older Forever Stamps remain useful for eligible First-Class mail. Shoppers who prefer year-specific designs can compare active listings such as the 2019 Forever Stamps Roll, 2018 Forever Stamps Roll, and 2017 Forever Stamps Roll.

Forever Stamps vs. Other Postage

Forever Stamps: Intended for qualifying standard domestic First-Class letters.
Additional-ounce postage: May be needed when a letter exceeds the base weight allowance.
Postcard postage: Uses the applicable postcard rate.
Package services: Use service-specific postage rather than assuming a standard letter stamp is sufficient.

Why Buy Forever Stamps in Bulk?

Stay prepared: Keep postage ready before you need it.
Save trips: Reduce last-minute errands for stamps.
Easy organization: Coil rolls can pair with a stamp roll dispenser.
Good for frequent mailing: Useful for bills, invoices, cards, and letters when the mailpiece qualifies.
